Sew Days
Veteran’s Home Quilts “Sew Days”
February 9, 10, 11
Heart to Heart and Magnolia Park Retreat are offering three “Sew Days” to make quilts for 254 beds at the new Colonel Robert Howard State Veteran’s Home in Pell City, Alabama.
Elizabeth has offered the retreat facilities and Heart to heart is providing the fabrics.
There are three ways you can help.
- Come to our sew days and help construct quilt tops.
- Donate labor for quilting and/or binding.
- Donate $30 to help pay for the thread, batting, backing and binding.
There is no charge for the “sew days”. You can come one or all three days. We will have the fabrics and patterns ready for you to make a quilt top in a day! The patterns will be simple and hopefully we will have the fabrics ready to sew when you arrive. Come ready to have fun!
You will need to bring your sewing machine and all quilting tools. Bring thread for piecing, mat, rotary cutter and sharp blades in case we need more cutting.
You may choose to make reservations for a three course hot lunch with dessert prepared by Elizabeth at a cost of $10 a person. You could bring your own lunch if you like.
We can only take 28 people per day, so signing up is necessary.
Experienced quilters only, please. We will not have the time to give basic instruction.
Call today and sign up for this great opportunity to help support our wounded soldiers as they return home needing care. Please help us make this event a success.
