Cost:  $90

Take your first quilting steps as you learn the importance of  measuring, rotary cutting, seam allowances, and piecing.  The final class includes limited instruction in machine quilting and binding.

Fabric Requirements: 
12 assorted fat quarters
1/4 yd inner border
1 1/3 yd outer border
3 yd backing & binding (if same fabric) OR
3 yd backing & 1/2 yd binding (if binding is                different fabric)
60" x 60" batting
505 basting spray

PRE-CLASS INSTRUCTIONS:

Purchase tools, book and fabric (listed above at Heart to Heart) and blue painter's tape.  You will receive a 10% discount on anything purchased at Heart to Heart for this class. 

Prepare fabric by using heavy starch applied to wrong side - allow to dry slightly - then iron with the straight of grain until moderately stiff.  Pre-washing is optional.

Clean & oil your sewing machine.  Service at your dealer if needed.

Bring to 1st class:

Sewing machine with wound bobbins, machine needles, walking foot and power cord, foot pedal & cord, accessories & owners manual

Starched fabric

Tooks, book, notions, rulers, rotary cutter and mat, small scissors, etc. (See supply list above)
